Alama Foundation, once dedicated to supporting those afflicted with Alzheimer's, has returned to its founder’s roots, and shifted its focus to helping children in Ukraine.
This site is dedicated to collecting donations, 100% of which will go directly towards the children’s needs. By partnering with Divo Ukraine, a non-profit based in Kyiv, we can efficiently supply resources directly to the people in need.
Alama Foundation does not take any administration or operating fees from the money that you gift. Your funds will go directly towards helping children affected by the war who need financial support to fulfill basic survival needs, escape from the war in Ukraine, and treat their medical conditions.
The resilient children you will read about on this page already faced numerous challenges as they had lost their parents before the war and lived in foster families throughout Ukraine. After the war broke out, they experienced even more hardship as many of them lost access to essential medication and necessary operations.
On behalf of the children below, thank you for anything you can do to help.
In evacuating Borodyanka, a small town near Kyiv, Katya and her foster family came under fire. Unfortunately, she fell and severely injured her leg. Upon examination, the doctor found that she had torn her meniscus, and she would need surgery to receive a meniscus implant. As are many refugees, Katya is living in the hospital today, as she waits for this vital surgery. The doctors have graciously volunteered to perform the surgery for free, but they need to purchase the implant, a costly device.

Thanks to the volunteers and the Ukraine armed forces, the Kucheryavyy family-- three children and their legal guardian, Irina-- was evacuated from Irpin city, where there was heavy shelling. Irina and the children needed financial assistance, so the government, left with little option, sent them to live in an abandoned house with no heat or basic amenities. Because it is cold and damp in the house, the children often get sick. Your contribution will go to medicine and food for the family.

Julia has juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) where the body may attack its own organs. In her case, Julia's eyes have been particularly vulnerable. She needed expensive Humira drugs to keep the JRA at bay. But, alas, because of the war, supplies ceased to be shipped to Ukraine. We have managed to purchase medicine for four months on the black market, and this medicine saved Julia's eyes as there could have been substantial regression. But her condition is permanent, and soon this medicine will run out.
